3 Things While Visiting Woodsfield Ohio

We spent the weekend in Woodsfield Ohio visiting family. Below are the top three things we enjoyed during our stay.

1. Spent time at Shadow Lake RV Park

For our visit we decided to stay at Shadow Lake RV Park. We suggest you consider staying here if you are passing through the area. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, and you can find their information at shadowlakervpark.com.

Each morning we walked the grounds and enjoyed the sounds of nature. They have three ponds for fishing, and one is large enough to take a small boat or kayak out. One of the ponds has a deck and a large bobber which is adorable. The park has many play areas for children from climbing areas, forts, basketball court, shuffleboard and more. There are many trails to explore also.

In addition, they have a swimming pool, laundry area, pavilions, showers and restrooms. There are two dump stations and a propane refill station. In addition to full hookup sites, there are cabins available if you do not have an RV. Our site was a back in one, and the morning view was spectacular from our back deck!

2. Spent time spoon carving

During our stay there was time for hobbies. While I worked on planning our upcoming projects, Matt found time to carve a a few spoons. He also searched the grounds for new wood he could save for future projects.

While traveling we suggest always finding a way to incorporate your favorite hobbies. We have future posts coming on how we plan for our hobbies during our travels.

3. Attended the Lewisville Ohio festival and parade

A short drive away from Woodsfield is the town of Lewisville. During our visit, we traveled to Lewisville for their annual festival and parade with food and drinks. They had live music, games for the children, and their famous chicken dinner. Inside the hall they hold drawings for items to raise funds for the local fire department.

Matt’s uncle was appointed as the parade’s first Grand Marshal ever. He has spent a life time of service to their community and was honored for it. You can see him above in the Mustang driving his wife along the parade route. We are so proud of him!

Even our Sammy enjoyed the parade.

So those are the top three things we enjoyed during our stay. We hope you consider visiting Woodsfield Ohio and enjoy some relaxation and fun as we did. We plan on returning for a longer stay in the near future.
