This past week has been a whirlwind. Our week in review was Matt and I prepared for the ArtFest 2023 held at the University of Mount Union. For reference, next year’s event will be held on September 21, 2024 and we plan on being there. Be sure to check out the gallery at the end of the post.
Lots of Preparation, Much Satisfaction
There were many tasks that needed completed this past week. First we needed to finalize all the projects, then build and assemble our new pegboard walls, and paint the commissioned Eagle. And of course everything needed to be loaded up and ready to go the night before.
It is not an easy task hauling around large wood carvings, but we do enjoy sharing his talent with people. And the reactions from the children are the best! There is nothing more precious than seeing them laugh and smile when admiring a piece Matt created.
Beautiful Day for an ArtFest
The weather could not have been any more perfect. We arrived early in the morning to begin our setup and it was a little chilly, but as the day progressed it was a nice and pleasant time. As the food trucks began to prepare for the day we could smell all the aromas. The best was when the smoker was lit by the BBQ crew. It almost felt like a fall morning at the campground; I actually paused and looked around to see who had built a fire. I almost forgot where I was, and was dreaming of Smores! In the middle of the lakes there was a gentleman who kept blowing bubbles and juggling, and they had music at the back of the lakes.
Matt and I took turns walking around and looking at all the vendors. There was a variety including jewelry makers, wood artists, painters, ceramics, crocheted items, a comic strip creator, and much more! The space is nice and open and easy for people to move about. The best part is that the university opens the doors to actual indoor restrooms for everyone to use. The parking was plentiful, as were spots to sit and rest or enjoy a bite to eat. We highly recommend checking it out next year!
Week in Review Gallery
We have added a few pictures we took throughout the day. My favorite was a bird that was standing in the sun in front of the water fountain. He looked liked he was having a blast. Make sure to find him below.
We hope you enjoyed reading about our week in review. As always, thank you for visiting and be sure to check back for more of our updates.
